DEADLIER THAN THE MALE

Today I have Ventris from Star Wars the Clone Wars, this character has a long and complex history, she started as part of the Night Sisters, and was traded while she was a child, her master was killed, and she was rescued and trained by a Jedi, who was later killed, and then trained by Count Dooku in the ways of the Sith, until he betrayed and tried to kill her. After attempting and failing to kill Dooku, she became a bounty hunter, and after the start of the Empire became a Jedi protector, so going full circle.

The model I got for my Birthday, and depicts her time as a Sith apprentice, I constructed it with the arms lower than shown on the official sight as it looked more natural to me.

Here is a reference picture.

So where was I last week, I was in Scotland, visiting places we both had wanted to go to. Our first stop was Loch Ness, where I didn't see the famous monster, but did visit it's visitors centre.

We then progressed to Edinburgh to visit the castle, and my wife went to the Christmas market, and on the journey home we stopped in York to visit the Viking museum, the other two monsters I hoped to see was the British Big Foot.

And the Wild Haggis, but no luck on either, but we had a good time none the less.

That's all for todays post, so until next time, stay safe, and have fun !

JUST FOR FUN

When we paint our models it's normally for a purpose, weather it be to get another painted unit for one of our armies, or to enter a competition, even just to be part of a blogging challenge. Well todays model doesn't fall into any of those categories, as I literally painted the model for the enjoyment of painting it. It's no secret I love painting, I find it relaxing and a great distraction on low pain days. So what have I chosen as the subject a Tyranid Canifex,  this was left over from a client project many years ago, but I thought it would be interesting with it's soft tissue areas and armor plating, I used a coconut crab color's as the basis.

I used it as an experiment with colors and using glazes to darken down areas to see how it would work, which I was pleased with the results, also played with contrast paints as a highlight, which worked but was very subtle, which was great for dark colors. Next week I will be away from the computer while I go monster hunting, so if I don't post on your blog or answer on mine don't worry, I'm off having fun, so until next time stay safe, and have fun !

SEASON OF SCENERY 2025 EXTENDED EDITION SHOWCASE

Apologies for this being late, but due to it being extended and also me not able to sit at the computer until late September it conspired against me, plus some of you were very busy ! LOL The Extension was Azazael's idea, in the hope that I would be able to make more of a contribution but my health decided that wasn't to be, so any scenery that was posted in September was also included  in your entries.
