THINK SHE MOVES LIKE GEIGER

My next entry for Fembruary, comes from Raging Heroes, and is one of their Lust Elves range. I got the model as part of their second Kickstarter, with the idea of using them with my Dark Eldar, the main troop models are a lot smaller than their GW counterparts, and this one turned out to be a lot larger ! Personally I don't think it is practical as a gaming piece, as I've knocked off so many of the small parts while painting, so will now sit on a shelf, until I decide what to do with her.

The model seems to have been influenced by H.R. Geiger's artwork, with the style of the headpiece and tentacles, I could have gone with his grey tone style, but wanted a bit more colour, nice to finally have it finished.

Monday I will post up the "Paint What You Got" challenge roundup, so until then stay safe and have fun !

YOU CLEAN UP WELL

Not wanting to leave the stormtroopers that Frank sent over to last, like I had done previously when I got any, I have got them all finished. I moved one I already had into the unit, now making it a unit of 10. I've gone for a clean look on these, as if they were garrisoned in a local base so not covered in dust and grime, like you normally see on Tatooine.

While I got these finished, I have started on redoing some of the troopers I already have, and picked out 2 four man units that I also thought would benefit from the clean look, as they were unlikely to be deployed all the time, first is some rocket troopers, I've included the reference picture I used for them below, as well as what they used to look like.

Next I got the four riot troopers done, no reference picture I'm afraid but have included what they used to look like.

I've also got the four Trandoshan hunters painted, I added some greenstuff crests to one, to better suit the reference artwork below.

Firday I hope to have another Fembruary post, if not it will be "The Paint What You Got" challenge roundup, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

VAMPIRELLA

I bought this model some 35 years ago, based on the cover art on the box, which showed Vampirella as seen in the comic strip. When I got it home, i was disappointed by the contents, as it looked nothing like the artwork, and instead was done in a anime style which I am not a fan off. I also noticed that several pieces were miscast, and had an almost double layer effect. So it sat for years occasionally, rediscovering the box, I slowly tried to correct the miscast, and then would leave it again. Recently I found it again, no longer with the box, and decided that this Fembruary I would finally get it finished. The model stands 5 inches or 125 mm tall, so on the larger scale size.

The bat you see above is not the original bat that came with the model, but one from the old Warhammerquest box set, which is a lot better than the original, seen below.

Sorry for the lack of responses this week, we had our internet go down, thankfully that has now been fixed, and normal service will return.

That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

I'M SORRY I THOUGHT YOU WERE SOMEONE ELSE

Continuing on with the character models I got from Frank, I decided to make them into alien races, as this was a quick way to make the models look different from the original, plus changing the colours would help make them individual.

The first one however is just a different colour scheme, as a wookie is a little harder to change his look, the model on the left is the original one I painted.

The next one I made into a Siniteen, as it was just a case of removing the helmet and then adding the larger head.

For the next one I made him into a Aqualish, sometimes these are shown with two eyes, and others with four, I went with the four on this version.

As this model already had hairy arms I thought making him into a Gotal was a logical progression.

As this next model was originally Luke, I wanted something different, so went with an Abyssin, I used the Mandolorian version as reference, minus the combover.

Last today was a simple head swap, turning this lady into a Rodian, I've already painted a lot of green ones, so went with a blue version like I have seen in the cartoons.

The last model will add to my tally for Fembruary, but will have a proper post on Friday, with this weeks actual entry, so until then stay safe and have fun !

GIRL POWER

For my first post for Fembruary I've finished some of the Star Wars females that I put to one side just for this challenge.

First today is Jyn Erso from Rogue One, the model was nicely detailed, and just needed to match the colours as best I could from the movie still.

Next today is a a Theelin female, now until recently I had only seen 2, one in Jabba's Palace, as a back up singer, and one in Star Wars Rebels cartoon, called Gooti Terez, I went for this version as she was a rebel, and even became a lieutenant in the rebellion. In the book of Boba Fett, there has been another Theelin, sat at a table when the Mandolorian brought in a bounty.

Next I have a group of 3 human rebels, some of these models are really hard to spot that they are female, because of the clothing and webbing hiding the female form.

Next is a character from the "Return To Hoth" box set called Verena Talos

It was nice to see the Empire receive a female model as well in the form of an officer.

Last today, is one of the rebels that Frank sent me, as I have already painted up one of these, I thought I would do a quick conversion and change it's role. Have included my original model on the left for comparison.

That's all for today, should have something very different for next weeks Fembruary post, so until then stay safe and have fun !

REINFORCEMENTS

Recently Frank from nickelandimeproductions offered to send me some Star Wars figures he had, as he thought I would get more use out of them. On Friday a parcel arrived, and Frank had sent me the contents of Imperial Assault core box, this included 9 stormtroopers, 3 Imperial officers, 4 Emperor's guard, AT-ST, Darth Vader, 4 Trandoshan hunters, and 7 rebel fighters. This was extremely generous of Frank, which I am eternally grateful for.

Not to leave a gift sitting around I've already painted the two scout troopers with E-Webb cannons painted using my latest recipe, in the picture below the model on the right was my original way of painting them, which really needs to be updated now.

I also did a test stormtrooper, in a clean look which is the model on the right below, and shows how much I need to update the rest of my stormtroopers ! LOL

I've also done a test Snowtrooper, from the Return to Hoth boxset, now before you send the guys with the jacket that does up at the back, I have no intention of doing a full army for both sides on Hoth, not until I've actually finished some of my other Star Wars projects.

I also painted the Imperial tank that came in the boxset, as this has never appeared in a film or series, I went with colours that I thought suited it.

Last up today is K2 SO, this was one of my favourite characters in Rogue One, I was disappointed with the sculpt, as a lot of the finer details were missing, so tried to make up for it with the painting.

That's all for today, tomorrow see's the start of Fembruary, and I'm hoping to do a post each week for the challenge, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

I'VE BEEN IN THIS FIGHT SINCE I WAS 6 YEARS OLD

Well not me personally, as I didn't start painting RPG or wargaming figures until I was 11, but Cassian Andor, one of the main characters from Rogue One. The model comes with 3 sets of arm options, and I went for the sniper rifle, the only drawback on this is the weapon ends up across his face, small price for a cool weapon I suppose ! LOL

Next up is a Rebel officer, this is a rescaled version of one of the characters FFG did in Imperial assault, so I kept with the same colour scheme. He comes as part of the Rebel Specialist box set for Legion.

Next is a model from the Imperial Specialist box set FX-6 medical droid, I've based my colours on the one seen rebuilding Anakin Skywalker, into Darth Vader.

Both the specialist box sets, come with a astomech, the Rebels has an R5, and the Imperial has an R4, now many of you will know I've already painted lots of these droids over the years, so what to do with these 2 ? Then I remembered D-Squad from the clone wars cartoon, so here is the start of the squad U9-C4

And his buddy M5BZ

When I get the crashed escape pod, I'll add the two R2 units, then just need a WAC droid, and the colonel, and IU'll have the full D-Squad for use in my clone wars gaming.

I've also been working on making one of my pit monsters to make it look more like a Sarlaac, so far I've updated the tongue and beak, just need to add more tentacles, and it should be perfect.

That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !
