ONE LAST PIECE

I wouldn't call my Rebel Transporter 100 % finished but it will look effective on the board. Obviously I still need to do the interior, but I also need to make some fill ins for the cutouts, but everything else on the outside is done.

Below is the reference picture for you to compare it to.

And here is what the toy originally looked like, if it had been complete.

Some may say I have ruined a classic toy, but as it was missing parts, I like to think I saved it, and gave it a new purpose. I will be doing the roundup in a couple of weeks time, so if life has got in the way, of posting, you wont be left out, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

SCOPING OUT THE ENEMY

I have a little bit more content for you today, first is the sniper I wanted to include in my band of adventurer's, I've gone for limited armour, as she would need to be mobile and quiet. It seems all the cool sniper names have been used, so thinking of calling her Hard Round, as she prefers solid ammo to lasers ! LOL

Yes this is a human female, I know hard to tell, as I haven't overly sexualised her and with the position of the rifle covers her chest, plus she is wearing a mask, but I can assure you she is female ! LOL

Next I thought Ceri needed a little extra firepower, and being that she is a tech expert I present Gunbot, for when it's just too dangerous for her to go in.

Thinking GB will be controlled by Ceri, rather than full AI. Last up today is the additional work I've done on Lofus missile launcher, I added a back brace to help stop twisting, bracing where the handle meets the weapon, as you wouldn't want the handle falling off. Some extra venting on the shaft, to clear the gases for faster reloads, and also some cooling pipes to run coolant down the body of the launcher, as you wouldn't want it overheating.

I've almost finished the last two crew that Dai suggested, and maybe another creation, but that will all have to wait for another post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

HAVING A WHALE OF A TIME

I had thought about calling this post "There She Blows" as it was the only whaling term I knew, but thought it might draw the wrong kind of attention ! LOL Today I have the next adventurer, from one of Dai's suggestions, a Nusco male called Lofus. I decided to make him a bit grizzled so have included a few scars on him, and kitted him out, so he is ready for anything.

I really like this character and may even promote him to captain of the crew. As you can see from the above pictures I've used some plastic tubing to help on the cylindrical shapes, but the rest is all greenstuff. That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

CALL ME JUNK

As you can imagine, I haven't got a lot done in the last few weeks, what with doing as much as I can on the bathroom, and then recovering as much as I can inbetween, but I did at least finish the sculpt on my next adventurer A cyborg human male, I'm going to call him junk, as he probably lost a lot of his memory with how much of him has been replaced.

I decided to make his weapon part of his arm, rather than carrying a weapon, and it could be that he has different attachments, depending on what role he is needed for at any time. I've also started Dai's excellent suggestions for the crew, so hopefully will have something to show on them soon, still need to finish my Rebel Transporter before the end of the month as well, if I can ! LOL In other news I now only have two Ogre orders left to dispatch, one being John's, who has been very patient, being one of the first to place an order, but I needed to get the overseas one's sent first to make sure they got there in time, yours should be on it's way this week John. That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

BASE LEVEL

Have you ever gone to do a fix, thinking this won't take long, and it turns into a total nightmare ! This started about a month ago for me, when we got our house 4 years ago, there were rooms that we wanted to change, but budget and time ment they were on the list, but not important enough right now, one of which was the bathroom. The plan was to get the much needed downstairs bathroom done first, as I really struggle with stairs, and once that was done, we'd look at getting the upstairs one done how we'd like it. One of the problems in the old bathroom was the leaky taps, so we got some new ones, as a tempory fix, this went fine on the sink, but the bath was another story ! The pipe work was a really strange bore size, and once I capped these off the whole pipework started leaking, turns out it had been doing this for a while, so 4 weeks later were still trying to get it all fixed with now a new bath sink and toilet, hopefully by the end of the week, I might see an end to it ! LOL

So why do I mention this, well some of you may have noticed that I've been late on commenting on your blogs, and my content level has been a bit lacking of late, now you know the reason why, Hopefully normal service shall resume shortly, in the meantime I've got a bit more done on the Rebel Transporter ( model work has been my refuge, when all else has been going pear shaped ! LOL) I've been working on the bottom section. First it needed a new ramp, as this one didn't have one. A simple piece of plasticard, with a patterned piece on top, and two ramp pistons. The hinge was made with a piece of hollow plastic rod that I split, to fit around the original mounting point.

I've also got the bottom half painted and weathered, using the same technique I showed for the top. I also added some AK crusted rust effect to the grey areas.

I still need to decide what to do with the interior, whether to make it into a storage area, or maybe some living quarters, or even maybe do both that are inter changeable for different options, but that may be a project for another time, for this years challenge I'd just be happy with getting the outside finished ! LOL

That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

LEADER OF THE PACK

Today I have the first of my Tornado Landspeeders to show, this is the MK II version, of which I have another 4 to do, and one MK III, I wish I had a MK I instead of the MK III but don't fancy paying Forgeworld price ! LOL This one also has a slight conversion to it, in the Heavy Bolter underneath came from the pintel mounted sidecar, which I adapted to fit. I don't know if the new rules allows this configuration, but as it's only going to be used at home, I'm not worried.

I also thought I would show another of my speeders in it's original colour scheme, before it gets repainted to match the rest.

I think my dark blues and whites have improved a lot since this was done around 1996. That's all for this post, so until next time, stay safe and have fun !

A LITTLE SPLASH OF PAINT

So I've started to paint the Rebel Transporter, and I wanted to share the steps and colours I've used, in case anyone finds it useful. First I base coated the model with GW Mournfang Brown, with GW Rhinox hide in the groves. Now you may be able to see that the base colour is patchy, this was intentional to give a varied effect for the next stage.

Next I gave a drybrush of GW Zandri Dust all over, to give me the right sort of base tone all over.

I then used GW Corax White to add another drybrush to the rear to lighten it further, and then added GW Apothecary white contrast in patches, green brown and black washes in patches, also a really thinned down Vallejo Foul Green, once this was all dry I sponged some patches with GW fire Dragon Bright. Finally I put in some GW Corax White detail marks, to tie to the reference picture.

Below is the reference picture to see if I came close.

Hopefully you might find this useful, as I know I struggle when it comes to this messy style of painting. That's all for this post, as I have another 3 sides to bring to the same level, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

GIVE ME A HUG

I have my next two adventurers painted, first is the Ursaxum, the crew call her Candy, as she is so sweet. Her real name is TRZZK which the Aquarian races really struggle to pronounce. The daughter of a Chieftain, she was supposed to marry the son of a rival tribe, but Candy thought he was too stupid to survive, so ran away instead, looking for adventure. Her race are coloured like the local rocks and grasses, for camouflage, as there are some super predators, which have been known to devour whole villages in a single meal.

Bodil left his homeworld as the constant carnage became too much for him, and he thought the life of a pirate or privateer would be more sedentary and less blood thirsty. He sleeps a lot better in his new role !

Below I have included a picture of the four I now have painted.

Really want to get started on Dai's suggestions, but some silly idiot has a terrain challenge running so better get back on with some of that, so until next time stay safe and have fun !
