No I'm not claiming to be painting to the standard of White Dwarf but a squad of Robot Bikers completed. Some of these are from my range of Robot Bikers I sell, and 3 are from Mongoose's Kickstarter, that I have modified to fit the jetbikes from my range.
This first one is from Mongoose, when painting Robots I like to think of it's role first before choosing a colour scheme, this one I decided was a house robot, so gave it a mixed colour scheme that the householder may have chosen.
This next one I couldn't think of a role, but it did remind me of Maximillian form the film " The Black Hole" hence I gave him the name Max on his chest plate.
This is the last one from Mongoose, and I thought it was a garbage droid, so went with green like Ro-Jaws and then dirtied up the paint scheme, with washes.
This is the first of my set, and when I built it, I had the idea of a construction droid, with the flat area at the top for carrying materials around the site.
The next one is a Rescue droid, so went with a medical colour scheme, red and white.
This is my recycle droid, being environmentally conscious I thought recycling would be the better way to go.
This last one is a waiter droid, so went with a very simple colour scheme, almost like a waiter in a shirt and waistcoat. It's taken a long time for me to actually paint this model, as the original one for my display cabinet was painted by Lee Hebb, a very accomplished competition painter, and after seeing his excellent painting of this model, really didn't want to attempt it myself.
Above we have a group shot of all 7 models together. All these were finished on Friday and photographed, which was just as well, as my wife had to rush me to A&E on Saturday with fears I was having a stroke. This was not the case luckily, but I am suffering with Bell's Palsy, which is non life threatening, just means that half my face has gone on strike and doesn't move at all. The one drawback is it has thrown off my depth perception, so painting details is very hard at the moment, not to let it stop me, I've been working on a lot of basecoating and washes, to keep me busy, and started work on a piece of scenery as well. Hopefully I will be able to finish something soon, so until then Stay Safe and have fun !
Cheers Dave
