AND THE DEAD SHALL RISE !

First off today I have some sad news, for the first time in 10 years my company will not be going to Salute. This has nothing to do with the event as we were allocated the relevant space we needed, but due to the very trying year we've been through, the construction of our new facilities is still not finished and added complications has delayed the completion. Hopefully the following year we will be back but that depends on being able to get the relevant space if available.
Now to something more interesting, Phil is running Deadcember over on his blog dizbustersge and I'm going to use this to create some undead miniatures. I have already started 3 models, two sets of Zombies and victim, and an enraged spirit. The Zombie idea came from Andy (Da Gobbo) and will be based from this idea

The enraged spirit will be a ghost, now I'd like to do two more undead pieces, what would you guys like to see ? It can be anything to do with undead, drop your ideas in the comments.
Very short post today, next week will hopefully have some work on the undead to show, so until next time have fun !

MECHANOVEMBER

This  months painting challenge on azazelx blog was to paint something mechanical, and I thought it would be a great idea to use this challenge to add some robots to our range.
DocBot
This one has a respirator appendage, a hypodermic syringe, a laser scalpel, and a clamp/ spreader hand. I thought this would be a versatile set of arms

STAN
Short for Standard Technical Automaton persoN this is a general purpose robot that could be used for multiple jobs. ( i know the last word is a bit of a cheat ! LOL)

Maintenance Droid
A small multi purpose use droid for possibly vent shafts or service tunnels

Mobile Food Dispensing Droid
Free roaming droid that you could stop and buy food or beverages from.

Pleasure Droid
If all industry was mechanised, maybe this would be the robot equivalent of the oldest provision

And here's a group shot to make it easier for Azazel, these models won't be released until January, but are available to you all now, the maintenance droid is £3, Stan and pleasure droid will be £4 each, Doc Bot is £5 and food droid will be £6, if you want any on pre release just email me what you want.

That's all for this post so until next time have fun !

EAT RECYCLED FOOD !

As I continue on with the robots this month, I have now got enough of the 5 th robot done to show. This will be a vending droid, it's similar to the one in Judge Dredd the movie (the 1 st one with Stallone) but has enough variance that I shouldn't infringe on copyright.

As you can see robodoc is progressing well, and just working on the arms and sockets to finish.

Stan currently needs a hand to finish him off

Pleasurebot (or Olive for Frank) needs a replacement hand and a lower leg to finish.

The maintenance droid was pretty much finished other than some tidying, so haven't taken any more pics since then, hopefully the next time I post on these will be in paint.
So until next time have fun !

THE THREE LAWS OF ROBOTICS

This months challenge on Azazael's blog is to paint something mechanical, this can include vehicles dreadnoughts even power armour, now I know I have lot's of unfinished pieces that would count in this, I just can't find them at the moment, so instead I have decided to use it to give me the push I need to get on with some new models for the business.
I'm currently working on 5 different models, the first is a robot doctor, I knew I wanted to make one of these ever since I did the medical scanner, it will have four arms with multiple attachments including laser scalpel, injector, and anaesthetist mask. The small screen on the top is for a human face to be displayed, to be reassuring, and the large screen is for deaf people, so the doc can display in words what he's saying. The bottom section is so it can raise it's height and angle over the patient when performing surgery.

next up is a little maintenance droid , designed to be able to fit through ventilation shafts to repair and remove blockages or maybe he's a Gardner !

Next up is STAN which is a standard service bot, for multi purpose roles.

Last one today is the pleasure Bot, now as some of you may know I don't do overly sexualised female models as a rule, but as this is a robot I've made an exception. The model will be mostly robot with living tissue that is grown in vats in certain places.

You'll have to wait to see what I'm doing for the fifth one !
That's it for this post so until next time have fun !

ARMADACON 2019

This Friday I shall be travelling down to Plymouth to attend Amadacon, held at the Futures Inn, it was orginally called the smallest con in the country ( by them) with an attendance under double figures. It was basically a group of people who loved Sci-Fi and fantasy in all forms, and has grown from there.
I haven't been for a few years as they moved their date to the same weekend as Crisis in Antwerp, as I will no longer be going to Crisis I am going back to Armadacon.
Each year I make them a coaster which they give out as thank you's to people who help make the event.

Last year they asked for a figure to help celebrate their anniversary, so I built them and cast up a number of Gary the Orc, beneath his picture is the art he was based on.

Looking forward to seeing everyone and catching up, but have managed to get all the beds done for Michael before going, and even got them up and available on the website.

Doing this bit for Michael and helping with his project was very rewarding, and was happy to help out.
That's all for this post and will try and catch up with everyone's blogs when I'm back home on Monday, so until next time have fun !

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST !

Here is the last entry for my suicide squad box, until I can find the missing pieces, Deadshot, played by Will Smith in the movie, and will be replaced by Idris Elba in the next one. The model comes with a choice of heads with or without the mask, I decided on the one with.

Here is a group shot of all the heroes

and the villains that I've already shown, but makes it easier for my entry into this months painting challenge.

That's all for this post so until next time have fun !

WHEN IS A ROAD NOT A ROAD ?

When it's a board !
In a recent post on Frank's blog nickelandimeproductions the comments got to discussing how to have movable roads with the paths and buildings being higher and road markings, but still being flexible to change around.
Here are a couple of ways you can achieve this.
1 K.I.S.S.
keep it simple stupid this isn't a slight on anyone but me as I tend to over complicate things, it's just my nature !
If you paint all your base board the colour you want your roads ( this could be black or mottled grey, depending on what material you want) then place your buildings and paths where you want for the current game. then using white and yellow sticky labels add in the road markings you want, for extra detail you could make manhole covers and drains in thin plasticard so they don't rise up too high. Once you've finished your game remove all the markings and your board is ready to go again. You could also do it with paint, and paint over the markings each time, but you may get a build up of paint over time.
2 Dave's lots of work way
This way is a lot more involved but does mean it's completely interchangeable and you can add all the detail you want,  and only have to do it once.

The straight sections need to be made to the length of your buildings, if all your buildings are the same length you can make all the straights the same, if your buildings are different lengths  then you need to make road sections the lengths of all your buildings.
The cross roads and T junctions need to be made to the dotted lines.
Don't forget to add extra depth at the base of your buildings to equal the depth of the pavement.
Hope this helps you John, Frank and Greg.
That's it for this time so have fun !
