Today I have some more pod racers to show, first I'll start with Ratts Tyerell who is a Aleena, the model is greenstuff over frame.
Next is Ody Mandrell who is an Er'Kit, this is another full sculpt.
Next is Mars Guo who is a Bardottan and is another full sculpt.
Last one today is Teemto Pagalies who is a Veknoid, and is another full sculpt.
Here is a group shot with the other three I'd already done.
I have another two sculpts started of the racers you see in the film, then I'll be moving on to the unseen ones, that's all for today, so until next time, stay safe, and have fun !
Cheers Dave

Beautiful work as always Dave!
ReplyDeleteThank you Michal, was fun trying to match some of the colors.
DeleteWow!! They look awesome, Dave. Are you planning on releasing any through your shop or are these just for you..?
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon, these are far too scrappy to release, they are my way of trying to retrain my hands through the pain at the moment ! LOL
DeleteA fun collection of misfits, er... racers!
ReplyDeleteThank you Tarmor, think you were right with the first call ! LOL
DeleteTop stuff as always mate.
ReplyDeleteCheers Roger
Thank you Roger, good exercise for my hands, and hopefully will get my control back soon.
DeleteDamn, Dave - you are absolutely smashing these out! I can't say I like these Lucas creature designs in the context of Star Wars, but your figures match them and also look great!
ReplyDeleteThank you Azazael, I know the prequels were in general not everyones cup of tea, but some different aliens to add to the board are always useful in my house ! LOL
DeleteMore marvellous minis. Excellent work, this time I can't pick a favourite, they're all great.
ReplyDeleteYou're just using green stuff as your medium? I need to practice more.
Thank you misterc, I enjoyed painting Teemto the most as it was a fun challenge to match his shirt and skin ! LOL
DeleteYes a wire frame to work against (I use paperclips) and then the rest is all greenstuff, sometimes you need to add a smaller basic shape first and let it dry, then go back and add the detail layer, this is especially true with heads.
Any chance at a podracer? For some terrain or set dressing?
ReplyDeleteThank you SD, I might look at doing one under construction, for Season of Scenery.
Deletehahaha, these are great. i love it. gotta love the appreciation for the obscure characters. awesome job man!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mr.Martin, Star Wars does have a lot of obscure characters for me to choose from ! LOL
DeleteI recognize these as well! I think most of them got less screentime but they each look fantastic and I love seeing them all together. Will you be making any of the pods as part of this project? I know that will take up a lot more storage and be more time consuming so I wouldn't blame you if the answer is no!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeff, yes they all got very little screen time, and some less than others, as the focus was on Anakin and Sebulba. As I mentioned above, probably one under construction or maintenance, in a garage, and maybe even for this years Season of Scenery.
DeleteMore awesome characters and impressed with your sculpting from scratch! Ratts was always one of my favs of the podracers. His species makes a big feature in the new Maul series - have you started watching yet? Really good!
ReplyDeleteThank you Dai, I'm my worst critic, so can see where the sculpting isn't perfect, but they do resemble the characters enough you can see who they are. I have indeed been watching Maul, and the Aleena suit was something else ! LOL
DeleteThese are great, Dave! :-) I like the line-up!
ReplyDeleteThank you John, few more to add yet, as and when I feel the mood.
