LAST ORDERS

Today I have the last three named humans from the Cantina in Mos Eisley scene from "A New Hope", first is Yerka Mig here is what's known about him :

Yerka Mig was a male Human Imperial bureaucrat with a high security clearance. As of 0 BBY he had well been established in Tatooine.

The model was the Luke that came with the new rebel starter set, with a different head, yes I know I was going to use it for Kallus, but realised the outfit was perfect for Yerka, so swapped the heads, and will make a Kallus at some point.

Next today is Merc Sunlet :

Merc Sunlet was a human male thief from Tirac Munda. Skilled in multiple languages, Sunlet was often hired by the wealthy for advice on how to keep their own property safe.[1] In the year 0 BBY, Sunlet was present in Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina, and stood near the bar. While he was there, he was witness to a fight between Obi-Wan Kenobi and a notorious villain known as Doctor Evazan. Sometime after this event, he was having a conversation with Gela Yeens, who worked for gangster Jabba The Hutt. Concurrently, Kenobi and his young companion fled the Cantina, after two Imperial Stormtroopers began searching for them.[2]

The model legs and torso, started as Mordhiem parts, and the arms and head were from Legion spares.

Last today was Rycar Ryjerd if you remember he was only the height of the bar :

Rycar Ryjerd was the father of Rayc Ryjerd. He was born on Corellia. Oftentimes, he found employment in the Mos Eisley Cantina on Tatooine, training people to be pilots or to help smugglers make a run.

Not sure where the legs and torso were from but they made him the right height compared to the other models, the head and arms were spares from Legion. Below is a group shot to show the different heights.

This leaves me one last character from the Cantina to do a unnamed human, that you can see in the below picture, he's sat at he table  on the left with a drink in his hand, once he is done that will be all the characters done from the cantina.

That's all for today, so until next time stay safe, and have fun !

Cheers Dave

  3. These three some more good'ns matey. (The short bloke kinda looks like an old Wizards Ugnaught pose to me? Been so fun to follow this project and only one last character to go is great. Looking forward to see them all placed inside your cantina for a photo shoot!

    2. Thank you Dai, the photo shoot might be a while as I need to get all the models out of storage first once the renovations in my room are done, and currently still trying to find a contractor. The last guy is started while I'm close to finishing the Jabba's Palace crew as well, which I will post up later today. As for Blogger it's a nightmare when it does this, got thrown off on my phone, and never been able to get back on.

  4. Oh wow! You're really close to finishing up Cantina characters. That is a spectacular achievement in my book anyway. This latest trio looks awesome and its interesting to learn about how you made them as well. I have been logged out again so I'm self-identifying myself as Jeff/Kuribo haha.

    1. Thank you Jeff, yes 57 characters down one unnamed one to go ! LOL I do take on some really large tasks sometimes ( who are we kidding with sometimes ! LOL). Depending on what your making you can often find bits with the right trousers or boots, then you just need to add details, but if you need something totally different zombie parts are good as they are a lot thinner, so you have room for the layer of greenstuff. As long as we know it's you, it's all good mate !

  5. I don't recall any of these characters to be honest, Dave - but you're doing an amazing job with them. You'll need to get yourself another of the Rebel Starters just for parts and another Luke at this rate!
Actually.. I know you're a big Tattooine fan, but have you considered going through Rogue One? Sure, there's no tattooine, but it's the closest thing we have to an OT film in so many ways that we're probably ever going to get in our lifetimes and features a lot of cool character designs that cross over nicely with Star Wars (ANH these days - but I still call it Star Wars) with very much the same ethos. Jedha may as well be Tattooine visually, after all!

    1. Thank you Azazael, to be honest at the moment I could do with a lot of alien heads, things like Aqualish, Trandoshian, Quarren, Rodian and Klatoonian, for doing townsfolk. For humans, I can always use GW heads, which answers one of your previous questions, as I've used a couple of old Catachan heads recently for conversions, and they were right size, do need to add necks to make them realistic.
I love Rogue One as reference, I obviously have the Pathfinder box, which I painted in the relevant colors, the three main characters they released for it, and do have my eye on a set of Saw's rebels on Ebay to add at some point as well ! LOL

    2. Yeah, I think R1 would be a great movie to mine for characters, and then if you were feeling inspired Andor S1 and 2 gives a huge variety of good looking options. I'm looking to try and pick up a bunch of Imperial Army eventually, as well as the ISB Security from Season 2 if someone makes them - loved their look!

    3. So many great characters, and troop types to mine from all 3, I have seen the ISB troops from the end of season 2 the ones in the white armour, on Ebay and Etsy.

    4. Yeah, I found two STL designs for them. Something I'll be keeping an eye out from Local printers I think...

    5. Excellent, I also found the riot troopers from Gorn, thinking of some of those myself to go with the KX droids and the riot Stormtroopers.
