As I continue to work through the four boxes of Kroot I got for my birthday and just because my wife thought I needed some more models (not really, but I think she was trying to cheer me up, and move out of bed at the time ! LOL) I've added to the hound unit, which in my case are all female. To achieve this I trimmed their crest quills down and also used a more muted skintone, and Quill colors, as you often find in birds in nature.
I still would like to add another 3 to make this unit the second largest. I've also finished 3 additional headhunter kindred, these can use a acid spit attack in close combat, the throat crests were added with greenstuff.
I've also managed to finish the second basic Kroot squad, and it now is a full size twenty person squad, the models all came from the Kill Team boxset, but the arms were not ment for these bodies, I kitbash them around a bit, to add some variation.
Still another 1fourteen models to go, so expect to see more posts on these in the future, that's all for this post, so until next time, stay safe, and have fun !

DeleteMaking steady progress on the Kroot, Dave! I like the latest additions and appreciate the modelling changes you made to them as well. If nothing else, that will make them unique from others out there though I imagine the color scheme also manages to do that too!

DeleteAlways love to see new additions to your Kroot project and these newer sculpts do not disappoint. Like how you've gone with the bird-like "Females are dull coloured when compared to the males" scheme too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dai, once I've finished the next 14 models, I will need one more box of carnivores to bring the last few squads up to the numbers I would like. I tested a brown color scheme for the females to begin with, but wasn't happy with it, so went with the muted tones.
