PLEASE DON'T MAKE MY SUPERSUIT GREEN OR ANIMATED

If you don't know the above quote it comes from Deadpool 1, when Wade started his treatment, as he fought his cancer, so I felt was quite fitting at this moment, as my treatment is going well, have had the first two courses with no adverse side effects (although still waiting for my super powers to kick in ! LOL) with the very long list I was given to look out for, I think I'm doing well.

A huge thank you to all who have left me comments, sent me emails, and left messages on their own blogs, really helped me through a very difficult time, I've been pretty much bed ridden, since I left hospital, until this week, but continue to improve each day, so hopefully will now start commenting on your blogs again from now moving forward. Talking of blogs I will be doing the Season of Scenery roundup soon, as I wait for any last posts for the extended edition to go up (if you don't know what I mean, you'll have to wait for the roundup ! LOL)

I have an update on my hand as well, apparently I've damaged a nerve in my elbow, just waiting to see what the next step is which should be the beginning of November, so will keep you updated as I find out.

In my last post I mentioned I was having a downstairs bathroom fitted, which has now been completed, and making life much easier, as I haven't been able  to use stairs for a long time. here are some pictures

Not the most interesting of pictures, so hopefully will have more interesting ones in future posts, as I have started to get back into my painting, it's been a long slow road. My wife got me Kroot models for when I got out of hospital, and it took me over a month just to put them together, 10 minutes here, then the next 10 minutes might be 4 days away ! LOL Luckily this week I've actually managed two days painting for a couple of hours so hopefully will have something cool to show you next week, so until then, stay safe, and have fun !

Cheers Dave

  1. Great to see you blogging Dave! Onwards and upwards, and if you need an idea on how to brighten up your downstairs loo? I believe a Mr Victor Meldrew can put you in touch with someone who's very creative with plants! :D

[I didn't get your Deadpool reference, so I'll wait to see how many readers get mine.]

    1. Thank you Roy, every little win is a victory in my books, and if you can celebrate the little wins, the big ones become even better ! LOL Funny you mention plants, as I was only thinking yesterday that I needed a spider plant in the bathroom, but I'm the first to not get the reference, must be an episode I missed ! LOL

gives you the segment of the episode involving the yucca plant.

I'm painting up historicals at the mo', for a club Back of Beyond (central Asia) 1920s bit of daftness. My character's a Chinese Warlord, so lots of grey or khaki-ish -coated infantry is the requirement. Quite monotonous, if I'm honest. Still, the Chinese in the 1920s loved to splash the cash, so I get to include foreign tanks and aeroplanes and any other daftness I can think up (I can think up quite a lot, much to the umpire's over-worked displeasure. LOL.)

    3. I'll have to make sure I avoid buying from that garden center when I get my spider plant ! LOL
Even though the painting sounds monotonous at the moment, you seem to be having fun with the rest of it, especially keeping your umpire on his toes ! LOL

Great that you're able to get back into the hobby slowly, looking forward to seeing the Kroot!

    1. Thank you snapfit, didn't want anyone to have to send out the search parties ! LOL the amount of check ups from the community has been truly heart warming.
Things are progressing, so hopefully it shouldn't be long before I have something to show.

  3. Best wishes to you Dave, and hopes for the eventual clean bill of health and the return of fully functioning.
Or at least as functioning as you were before all this happened. 😁

    1. Thank you Stewart, sadly I will never get a clean bill of health from this one, but can fight it as long as possible, and as I don't like losing fights, should be around for a long time yet ! LOL
Getting close on the functional, will try some sculpting soon, to see how bad that is at the moment.

  4. So pleased to see you finally up and about blogging again, Dave. Fingers crossed for a full recovery from the nerve damage, as I imagine sculpting is one of life's greatest loves for you. Bathroom looks great, and must be a major blessing if you're finding stairs difficult these days.

    1. Thank you Simon, for me sculpting is like breathing, more of a have to rather than want to, and I really need to breath ! LOL

    1. Thank you John, as soon as I was able to spend more than 10 minutes upright before needing to lie back down, knew I needed to get a post up, from all the messages I received, plus I missed commenting on all your blogs.

  7. Awesome to hear that you're back and improving Dave - I've been hoping for the best but fearing the worst for a little while now! There's still a fair few posts to come (need to clear the bloody table again for one thing!) but I hope you enjoy seeing them!

    2. Whoops! Turned up as Anon - was using a different PC then the usual. We've been out taking photos tonight and there are ...yeah. Several more posts to come! Was really hoping you'd have the chance to participate with the extra month but I guess this year you'll have to settle for being the one who inspired a ton of models from a whole lot of people getting painted instead!

    3. Luckily enough I could work out who it was from the comment ! LOL I did manage one vehicle at the beginning, so that will have to do for me this year, and if I inspired a lot of scenery being finished, I would say that was a job well done.
