Come on no one really thought I would do two models and stop did they ! LOL So eight years ago I joined in Forgotten Heroes and have completed models 6 times, so it's only fair that I do six models for the challenge, with the two I've already done, I needed four more, and sticking with the Judge Dredd theme I've gone for some Judges from other cities, first up is a male and female Judge from Murphyville ( Ireland in modern times), unfortunately I never got around to getting the Judges from the world when Mongoose did them, and Warlord games never released any, so making my own was the only way to add these to my collection.
One of the things missing from a lot of the models done, is female versions, especially in smaller releases like judges from other cities, so here is a Judge from Calhab (Scotland), and Luxor (Egypt).
Here is a group shot with a Foundry Judge, for scale.
I had planned to do eight models, as it was eight years ago I joined in, but sadly the last two weren't finished in time, here's how far I got.
Back on with the next challenge, and you still have time to join in on Season of Scenery, as you have a whole 3 months to finish a piece of scenery, even if it's one you started before, and just need to finish it off, so until next time, stay safe, and have fun !
Cheers Dave

Lovely work Dave!
ReplyDeleteThank you Michal, they've been something I wanted to do for a long time ! LOL
DeleteI love seeing your creative process Dave, the work that goes into these sculpts is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you Michael, lots more to come, of varying types ! LOL
DeleteOh wow! They are awesome, Dave. I always thought Mongoose and then Warlord Games missed a big boat by not delving deeper into all the different Judges out there. Your Irish are especially good, with Judge-Sergeant Charlie Joyce being one of my all-time favourite characters from Judge Dredd. I'm definitely up for your Season of Scenery if you'll have me - I have tons of 3d printed scenery to get through. LOL!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon, Mongoose did do the Judges of the world set, and a full force for the Sov Block and Brit Cit, which was much more than Warlord did, but the one no one has done is Sinocit. Of course you can join in all are welcome.
DeleteYes. I think I actually got them from Mongoose, and the Judda as I recall. I meant more figs from the other cities, in sets like their Sov Block and Brit Cit boxes. I've always liked Hondo City and was hoping for a set based on their Judges.
DeleteI thought they did a Hondo City box, as Bryan had a whole bunch on his blog as I remember, currently planning to make a standard bike, which I can then add relevant symbol to the front for the different cities ! LOl
DeleteNow you've gone and had me pouring through Vampifan's World Of The Undead again, Dave. LOL!! I found the Hondo posting I think you recall and its basically Bryan buying a Foundry, Mongoose and Warlord figure a couple of times, and then doing his usual sharp-thinking conversions by bending an arm or two - to the point where you wouldn't know it was the same sculpt. It was interesting in the comments to see both Bryan and I were hoping about Judge faction boxed sets having picked up the Brit-Cit one.
DeleteHe was always good at making the most out of what was available at the time. It would have been great if there were more faction boxes, with relevant bikes and riders available to, alas it will be down to individuals to come up with stuff now, Hondo Cit, is on my radar, as is Sino Cit, plus my favourite Pan African, but there are so many to do ! LOL
DeleteThese are excellent, Dave! :-) I maybe need to regress to being a teenager and start reading Judge Dredd!
ReplyDeleteThank you John, if you can find them at the library, Judge Dredd the case files are a great way to catch up, I think they are up to volume 30 by now.
DeleteMakes sense there'd be Judges from other cities aside from the Japanese one, Brit and Commie cities. Love what you've done here mate - these are fab!
ReplyDeleteThank you Dai, over the years they've slowly been showing what the other judges look like, but there are still a few they've not shown yet, guess it's so they can add more when they want to ! LOL
DeleteYou rotten swine! There was me thinking I'd done alright this year knocking out two figures for Forgotten Heroes, and you go and whip out four more! with two almost there too!!!! You are not human or you have a team of elves sculpting these at night when we mortals have to sleep or....well anyway FOUL I say FOUL!!!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously lovely figures mate really lovely and painted sublimely to boot (love the Scotish lass by the way), but I really don't know how you do it! 🤔
Cheers Roger.
Thank you Roger, damn the secrets out about not being human, and the team of elves, was hoping to keep that a secret for a couple more years ! LOL It's probably because other than hospital visits, I spend all my time that I can sculpting and painting ! LOL
DeleteThe Tartan was a pain, but worth the effort in the end ! LOL Having a lot of models on the go helps speed things up, at the beginning of the month, I had all 8 frames on the go, tried a new frame as well which sped things up as well, I made small dolly torsos for all the models, effectively just small blocks of green on day one, day two I was able to pin arms and legs frames straight in and glue the heads, so I could get straight on with building them up. Also, I save time where I can, like the legs on the Murphyville Judge's once I got the boot and knee done just a basic outside shape was required for the jacket to rest against so it would flow properly. The biggest trick is once I can't work on one without sticking a finger into wet green, move onto the next one, and so on, so you get a constant flow of bits being achieved.
Awesome sculpts! I never knew there was this much to Judge Dredd, cool to see.
ReplyDeleteThank you SD, ah yes there are cities all over the world in Judge Dredd, and the Judges have very different looks and philosophies as well, one day I'll get round to doing more ! LOL
DeleteVery nice work on the latest 2000 AD minis, Dave! Its interesting to see how flexible the Judges' armor can be and I learn something new every time you work on something from this world. I'm surprised Judge Dread doesn't get more board gaming/wargaming support as it seems well-suited for it to me.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeff, yes slowly over the years we got to see what other judges looked like, as for games over the years there have been several board games, and at least three miniature games done, just no one currently, who knows we may see another one sometime.
