ANIMAL OR VEGETABLE ?

I have managed to get both versions of the Swamp Beast cast, and now painted, color wise I've gone for several green tones, one for the grass over the base of it's legs, a different tone for the leaves growing in patches and a different tone for it's basic skin tone, the vines I've picked out in brown, and the moss in a pale tone.

Here is a group shot of both variations

I've already put them on the website and here is a link to the relevant section alien-fauna to make it easier to find on the site, but that shouldn't stop you browsing all the other bits ! LOL My intention is to keep the business open for as long as possible, but that will depend on my health, so things could change quickly.

That's all for today, so until next time, stay safe, and have fun !

Cheers Dave

  1. Very nice colours on these - loving those vibrant greens. Sad to read about the store perhaps having to shut mate.

    1. Thank you Dai, as it was a lot of green on green, wanted to distinguish the different areas, plus the vibrant green reminds me of B movie monsters ! LOL It's a sad reality, but one I have to be aware of.

    2. Haha well perhaps it can be a part-time thing. It's certainly a good way to have meaningful practise with finances and other adult responsibilities!

    1. Thank you Iain, at some point I may do swap rounds between the head and arms, for a couple more for a scenario.

  6. these look really cool, i wish i had the skill to sculpt. creepy but the colors are so smooth and natural.
i would love to take some existing MotU figures i have and create new characters.
like using a Panthor figure and adding some green stuff and creating a Clawdeen to go with Catra, things like that.

    1. Thank you Mr. Martin, a lot of sculpting is practice, and textures. Have a look at tutorials I have a few on here, but not many, if there is a specific thing you would like to see, ask and I'll try to do a step by step, also check Roger's site as he posts stuff as well on https://rantingsfromunderthewargamestable.wordpress.com/ as both of us are happy to answer questions, and hopefully between us we can help you.
