ROBO RICKSHAW

For the Tatooine city area I want to have a lot of background vehicles and creatures, they may not be combatants, but will act as cover or obstructions during play. One of the bits I saw in the films and series was the Robot Rickshaw, the first time this was seen was Episode 2 Attack of the Clones, and more recently made a couple of appearances in The Book of Boba Fett. to make the model I used a lot of plasticard and greenstuff, and a bit of fabric.

To get the fabric to go between the two bars, I applied neat PVA glue to cotton material, then stuck it to the two bars, this is a lengthy process, as you keep having to tease the material as it dries to get the shape you want, but gives a really nice thin textured look, you can also use this method for making flags, below are the construction photos.

This one was based on the original screen shots from attack of the clones, and I might make the other version from Boba Fett at a later stage, that's all for this post, next time will be the challenge round up, so until then stay safe and have fun !

ROGUES AND VILLAINS

One of the packs of Armada ships I got for Christmas was the rogues & villains pack, this contains a lot of the bounty hunter ships, and some recognisable rogues, and some less so ! First up is the Millennium Falcon, now I could have gone for a less well known version, but as I have Han, chewie and Lando, in the figures it would be rude not to go for the classic.

Next is Dash Rendar's Outrider which is a modified YT-2400 light freighter, as above I could have gone for another version like the one the Iron Squadron used, but I have Dash as a model.

Before showing the other Rogues I'll move on to the Bounty Hunter ships, and start with Slave 1 which for anyone who doesn't know is Boba Fetts ship.

Next we have Hounds Tooth which is Bossk's ship

Next is Punishing One which is Dengar's ship

Last of the Bounty Hunters is IG-88's ship IG-2000

Before I finish the rogues ships I have two from the Rebel Fighters pack 2 to show, the first of these is the Ghost as used by Hera Syndulla in Star Wars Rebels, you get a second one in the box, which I will have to come up with another colour scheme for.

Next is the Shadow Castor piloted by Ketsu, also seen in the series Star Wars Rebels.

These last two ships I knew very little about and had to look them up, to find colour schemes, the first is the Moldy Crow

The last ship today is the Havoc, this made quite a change with the colours used.

I've still got more fighters to paint so expect them at some point. Hoping to have the challenge roundup soon, just waiting for one person to finish posting their bits and I will have it up, while were on the subject of challenges Roger is looking to start one, it currently is having input, and if you'd like to join in and have your say on the subject you can check it out here rantingsfromunderthewargamestable . That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

TWO FOR ONE

As promised here are the army pictures I promised to some, I've tried as best as I can to include the whole unit and it's transport if it has one, and I have two completed armies to show.

COURT OF PAIN

This was the first one I finished so only right it's first in this post, below is the Haemonculus ancient and her retinue of Grotesques, now some will be saying that the ancient option is no longer available, but as this is for games at home, I'm keeping her ! LOL

Next is the first of three Haemonculus with her unit of Wracks and Raider transport.

Here is the second

And the third

Lastly for this army I have the option of three Talos, and a Cronos Parasite engine.

KABAL OF THE BLOODY CLAW

First is a picture of the two HQ choices I have The Dark Avatar, and the court of the Arcon with venom transport.

Next we have the elites, first is a unit of Incubi with Raider Transport.

Next is a unit of Mandrakes

A unit of Harlequins

The last elite is a unite of Kabalite Trueborn with their Raider/Ravager transport, probably used as the later more often.

Next we have four troop units of warriors all with their dedicated Raider transport.

We now move onto the Fast Attack option a unit of Scourges.

Finally onto the Heavy Support, below is a Voidraven Bomber, and two Razorwing Jetfighters

Lastly there is my standard Ravager, next to the super heavy Darkstar.

This now completes these two armies, unless of course I add anything, which isn't very likely at this time, but never say never ! LOL That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

FALSE STATEMENT

In my last post I claimed I'd finished my Kabal army, now I knew I still had some bases to do, but I thought I had painted all the models. As I started to go through doing the bases I found I had missed two things completely, the first was a scenery piece, now that technically isn't part of the army, but adds to the theme when gaming. I originally built this piece when I worked for GW and was part of my intro board as a Dark Eldar portal, it was made from a plasma globe, and as you can see still works. When I left the company I took the piece with me as I had paid for the piece, it just needed painting to match my army, as seen below.

The next piece I realised wasn't done was the Incubi I needed to bring the squad up to full strength now the leader had a different retinue, this was not even undercoated, so I have no excuse on not remembering, other than it was sat in the carry case.

Finally here is the scale shot Dai asked for of my Darkstar next to a regular Raider, to show it's size.

As soon as I finish all the basing I will do a army post, which could be the next posting, as I'm managing to get through it pretty quickly, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

BIG GUNS

No I'm not talking AC/DC's song that was used in "Last Action Hero", although I do like a bit of AC/DC to listen to, but the total lack of Super Heavies for the Dark Eldar army, this has been the case through all versions of the codex, and 1 st edition didn't even have flyers until Forgeworld did some which then got added in 2 nd edition. All the other armies have had super heavies available, either in Epic, or through Forgeworld, and some have had them in codex and mainstream GW production.

To combat this for my own army I came up with the Darkstar this super heavy uses the dark energy technology that the Dark Eldar are renowned for but on a bigger scale, it is armed with two disintegrators as it's secondary weapons for while it's moving into position, then it uses the Darkstar cannon, this weapon generates up a large ball of Dark Energy while stationary, and then propels the energy ball with a reverse engine burst to propel it forward.

To make the model I used 4 original raider models, a couple of prism generators from the Eldar range, and some of the add ons from the kit, plus some plasticard. I'm afraid Roger I have no construction pics, as I'd already started painting bits while still in construction.

As you can see from above I've done it in my Kabal colours, and has now finished this army, still have some beasts to make and paint for my Wych army, and need to get a new raider, and then that will be all 3 Dark Eldar armies finished. That's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT

As regular visitors to this blog will know, I don't do much on Historical gaming for myself, and tend to do more Sci-Fi or Fantasy, that's not to say I haven't worked on historical stuff before, my first client when I started the company was MJ Figures and I worked on his Falklands range and built his Georgians and Jackal crew. So when a fellow blogger asked me if I would do a conversion for him, I jumped at the chance. Dave also known as Guru Pig over at phillipislandgamingsociety asked if I could convert a Matilda Tank to the Hedgehog variant, he sent over lots of reference pictures (very useful), after agreeing a price, Dave got a tank sent to me to work on, this came from Warlord Games. I only assembled the main body of the tank and tracks, as I needed the whole back section to be able to do the conversion, I used a mix of Plasticard and Greenstuff to create the piece as seen below.

The one are Dave's reference pictures didn't cover was the rear view, luckily on a Google search I found a larger scale model kit that covered this, here are some of the reference pictures to see what it should look like.

Dave will be showing the painted version on his blog once done. That's all for this short post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !
