FORGOTTEN HEROES 2026 Part 2

I have a little sculpting work to show today, as I have made Sabbat, I did find a plastic head in the bits box to help speed things along, but the rest is all greenstuff as you can see in the picture.

The cloak was made in three sections, the back section, then the shape of the cloak on the two arms, before adding all the faces. The shoulder bones do have a gap over his actual shoulders. As I managed to sculpt this guy, I thought about who to do next, and I've gone with Spikes Harvey Rotten.

Spikes Harvey Rotten is a fan-favorite, rebellious biker character in the UK sci-fi comic 2000 AD. He made his debut in the 1978 story "Mega-City 5000" and went on to cement his legendary status in the iconic Judge Dredd epic "The Cursed Earth". Key Story Arcs & Trivia The Cursed Earth Quest: To gain his probation, Spikes joined Judge Dredd and an eclectic crew to deliver a life-saving plague vaccine across a thousand miles of irradiated wasteland. Heroic Sacrifice: During the final stretch in the Mojave Desert, Spikes was gravely wounded by a legion of war-droids. He chose to go out in a blaze of glory in a suicide attack against the robots, allowing Dredd and the alien Tweak to continue the mission. The "First Punk Billionaire": Before his last stand, he uttered this iconic line, reflecting his eccentric criminal background. Dredd's Tribute: Moved by his sacrifice, Judge Dredd dressed Spikes' body in a spare Judge's uniform as a decoy, and later ensured a statue of him was erected in the Hall of Heroes, lamenting that Spikes was "the greatest punk he had ever known".

So hopefully next time a painted Sabbat, and maybe a sculpted Spikes ! So until next time, stay safe, and have fun !

Cheers Dave

    1. Thank you Dai, as I built Tweak many years ago, thought it was about time I had a Spikes too ! LOL
It was a lot easier than it looks, as I only had to do the front of the body and legs, the most time consuming piece was all the faces ! LOL

    1. Thank you John, in the comics it actually criticises Sabbat all the time, as it is faces of people he beat ! LOL

  3. Really cool cloak, reminds me a bit of Berserk during the eclipse. And two characters huh? Already doubling your goal haha.

    1. Thank you SD, didn't know that one, but with a quick look they are very similar. Trying to make up for last years failure ! LOL

  4. Very impressive, Dave! I've never read the Sabbat arc, though I do have quite a lot of JD stuff I've yet to read here. Either way, the figure looks ace and it looks like you've nailed that long pony-tail!

    1. Thank you Azazael, it was actually the last epic storyline I read, so have a soft spot for it ! LOL There are certain iconic parts to him, that really need to be there to give him the overall look , and that was an important one like the cloak for me.

  5. Sabbat came out great and the cloak is really a sight to behold. Quite a lot of suffering captured there which gives him a really menacing look! I'll be curious to see what else you work on for this challenge and it looks like I might be learning a lot about Dredd/2000 AD in the process which I look forward to.

    1. Thank you Jeff, I thought being reduced to a face on a cloak would cause a lot of suffering, so glad it came out in the sculpt. It definitely feels like it will be a Judge Dredd heavy month, and I'll try to remember as much background as I can for each one as I go ! LOL

    1. Thank you Suber, roughly about 4 days, but lots of bits were on the go at the same time, so the back of the cloak started on a flat piece of plastic while I was working on the legs and torso, so I can be working on multiple pieces while waiting for bits to dry ! LOL
