Another year of scenery challenge has drawn to a close, and we have had some stunning entries again this year, in both quality and quantity, and many returning participants, and a few new ones. Here are this years submissions and links to each persons blog, so you can check out all their other projects as well.
https://justneedsvarnish.wordpress.com/ John has been busy finishing some projects he started in last years challenge, and says he has a lot now ready for next years challenge as well. Most of the pieces shown are scratchbuilt.
https://pmpainting.blogspot.com/ Matt has mostly been working on Sci-Fi scenery, both scratchbuilt and production scenery.
https://jonhobbydesk.blogspot.com/ this is Johnny's first year and did both scratchbuilt and production scenery.
https://rantingsfromunderthewargamestable.wordpress.com/ Roger has been finishing off his slum block MDF scenery, plus starting and finishing a lot of other scenery.
https://kuribospainting.com/ Jeff got another piece of scenery finished for his Fallout gaming.
https://markamorin.com/ Mark went a completely different route this year, and breathed new life into his garden ornament, one of the great things with this challenge, you never know what people will do.

https://azazelx.com/ Azazel was his productive self and completed a lot of different scenery.
and finally there's my contributions, this year I split my time between Star Wars and 40K
Thank you to all who took part, and supported the participants on their respective blogs. I've received some requests for next years challenge to make it 3 months long starting in June, now for some I know they have Forgotten Heroes running in June (myself included) but will be opening the challenge then for those that want it, but will not be detracting from my own efforts on Forgotten Heroes.
Hopefully I haven't missed anybody's scenery, but if I have let me know in the comments, and I will do a second round up, that's all for this post, so until next time stay safe and have fun !

Some awesome entries in there! With all Mark's work, it's funny to see Woodstock as his lone entry. A super cool piece though and a lot of love in that one.
ReplyDeleteIt is an eclectic mix, which makes it such a cool challenge, I know Mark has been busy sorting out the models he needed for his next Feudal Patrol battle, so was glad he found time to get an entry in

ReplyDeleteIt was a great year both in quantity and quality John, no problem at all, always like to give credit where it's due, and thank's for being a part of it again, would be great to have people return each year, already thinking of some ideas, but they might not wait until then ! LOL

DeleteHaha, I thought the same as Stew and felt like I could have done a bit more for the challenge. If I wasn't wrapped up in a display piece, I'm sure I would have as I have lots of terrain I need to do. Thank you for putting this outstanding post together, Dave. We really have some talented hobbyists in our blogging community and this is a great way to show it!
ReplyDeleteAs I said to Stewart, we all have different projects on the go, so the time devoted to finishing a display piece, would seriously challenge anyone, with that in mind a really excellent painted piece of scenery done during that as well is an achievement in itself, and glad you were able to join in mate. If the scenery is for Fallout, I always have the "Apocalypse Me" challenge in October, if that helps motivate you.

Indeed Roger, the quality of work from everyone is outstanding, with such a diversity between the subject matter and ranges, it really is a great showcase to put together at the end, and hopefully inspires more people each year to work on their scenery.

A ton of excellent scenery again, Dave! I think I could have done more but for some reason I faffed around too much. Still, there's always next year :-)
