It's time again for another challenge, and this one is all about an Apocalypse, now the meaning of Apocalypse is :
So this could be WW2 as mentioned above, or a Zombie Apocalypse ( which means if your taking part in Zomtober, you get two for one) it could be an Alien Invasion, or even Post Apocalyptic, like Mad Max, Judge Dredd, or Fallout.
So what models can you include, single figures, vehicles, and scenery as well, as long as it fits with your chosen Apocalypse, it can be part painted models that just need finishing, or completely from scratch, as it's all about getting models finished. Here are some examples from last years challenge.
If your feeling really adventurous, you could convert a model to represent yourself in your chosen setting, like the model I did of myself at the top, or the one Guru Pig did below ( Still think he's going to get hot in that clown suit ! LOL)
The start date is the 1 st of October, and will run to the end of OctoberIf you'd like to take part, just let me know in the comments below, and if your blog isn't one I normally comment on, please leave a link, so I can find you easily. I hear some zombies calling my name for this challenge, or at least they will after their elocution lessens, as they tend to just groan at the moment, so until next time stay safe and have fun !
Cheers Dave
I'll be looking forawrd to seeing the various entries to this challenge even if not tking part myself.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe, the support on these challenges is just as important, in my opinion
DeleteI'm up for this one! I actually have a mini I painted last year that will work as a zombie me :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat to have you on board Matt, last years output from you was inspiring. A zombie version of yourself would be a cool model.
DeleteI should be able to participate whether it is a Fallout mini or maybe even some terrain. I'm looking into getting some things I need to start a new Fallout terrain project as we speak. The question as always will be what can I get done this month, especially with a diorama already started. We shall see! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat to have you on board Jeff, and even if it is one entry, it will be worth it. Look forward to seeing what you enter.
DeleteI'll certainly be participating in this one. I've got lots more zombies to wade through, though I might need to take a break and do some survivors instead first now, and there'll likely be some WWII stuff as well. I might dig out and paint another Judge or two if I have time!
ReplyDeleteGreat to have you on board Azazael, sounds like you have some cool ideas on what to do, and survivors count just as much as Zombies, so all are welcome, really need some more judges, must get a Warlord one to check it's scale at some point.
DeleteGood luck with the challenge. The miniature that supposed to be you looking interesting.
ReplyDeleteI’ll have to pass on the challenge bc I’ll be painting dark ages in prep for a con. Unless you want to count that? The Saxons certainly viewed the Vikings as apocalyptic. 😀
Thank you Stewart, not a bad representation of me in model form ! LOL
DeleteI think you could certainly count them, as didn't the Vikings also have the story of Ragnorak which would be the ultimate Apocalypse according to legend.
Yes they do. Though to be fair I think most religions have a doomsday / ending of the world bit in them. And technically I’m doing Saxons but what the hell, if you accept then they will count. 😀
DeleteThen you are definitely in then Stewart, and your not wrong about pretty much every culture having a doomsday prophecy, unfortunately through history for some they came true for their culture.
DeleteDon't think I've got any apocalypse models, but if I can find a WW2 model that might fit in I'll have a go!
ReplyDeleteWould be great to have you on board John, any of the pieces you are doing for your Alien Invasion would also count in an Apocalypse.
DeleteOooh, I never thought about that! Might check to see what could fit in!
DeleteIf you think of Independence Day they wiped out about 50 % of the world in the first few days, or War of the Worlds, so I would certainly class that as an Apocalyptic event ! LOL
DeleteDoes it still count if my painting is merely apocalyptic?! Just kidding! I'm not sure that I have anything apocalyptic coming along, but if I do I'll make sure to post it. I do have grandiose plans of entering Orktober for once. Though it's really iffy on whether I'll even be able to complete one Orc before then. Here's hoping!
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well on the Orktober painting Brian, as for Apocalyptic, if you convince me it's an Apocalyptic setting, it's in mate.
DeleteSplendid timing, Dave. I'd certainly like to join in if I may - though I will be doing Zomtober too, LOL!!!. I have some more Crooked Dice robots I want to add to my rusty US Army android force which will fit in very nicely, imho.
ReplyDeleteOf course you can join in Simon, I will be registering for Zomtober this year, as I actually have Zombies to do, sounds perfectly Apocalyptic to me.
DeleteI'm in (if that's OK), I've got some Mantic Plague "Zombies" to get done, so I'm going "two for one" again this year. Oh and you really wouldn't want to see a figure of me any more than I'd want to paint it! 🤮
ReplyDeleteCheers Roger
Of course it's okay Roger, and why not get in on the two for one, I am this year ! LOL Fair enough mate, anonymity it is ! LOL
DeleteLink (gaps added between // and .blogspot, to break any bot trails - hopefully!).

Hello Dave, I'm able to take part with a figure conversion depicting myself as part of a cinema movie Zombie Apocalypse. Thanks for the reminder about Zomtober, as I'd forgotten.
Cheers, Roy
Great to have you on board Roy, and look forward to seeing your conversion, no problem on the reminder, always happy to share the challenges.
