" WE DON'T SERVE THEIR KIND IN HERE "

Firstly apologies that I haven't commented on anyone's blog this last week, a combination of work and bad health has kept me away from the computer, plan this evening is to catch up on all your blogs this evening. Many thanks to the few who commented on my last post I will answer them this evening as well.
Before my dry spell I had been working on some patrons for the cantina  in Mos Eisley, these models are from the Star Wars miniatures range available from tritex-games.co.uk
First up is Muftak, which was in both versions of "A New Hope" the original and extended version

Next is Kabe who was also in both versions

Next is Chachi De Maal, who was also in both versions

Next is his cohort Ohwun De Maal who was also in both versions

Next is Myo who I believe was in both versions but not a 100% sure

Next is Hem Dazon who was in both versions

Next is Takeel who was in both versions

Next is Momaw Nadon who was in both versions, this one required some greenstuff to make the costume right to the movie

Last is Feltipern Trevagg this on also required some greenstuff to make his costume right, not sure if he was in both versions

That's it for this post so until next time have fun !
Cheers Dave

  1. Superb renditions of the cantina patrons, Dave. Amazingly, I do recognise them all.

    1. Thank you Bryan, I thought you would have a good chance of recognising most of them as they were in the first six movies that you had watched, and weren't some of the more obscure characters

  2. Firstly, and by far the more important, its good to see you well enough to be back on your feet posting and commenting Dave. Secondly, that's a fine Cantina collection that would make any prospective George Lucas very proud indeed. I'm especially fond of Snaggletooth as I spent many hours as a boy playing with his "Kenner" action figure.

    1. Thank you Simon, feeling a bit better and back to pushing on through the pain ! LOL
Have found a couple more on Tritex Games I missed last time, so will rectify that as soon as I can, then it's onto making others, luckily found a complete list and relevant individual reference pictures to do the rest ! ( no my health hasn't improved my sanity ! LOL)
Didn't know how many would remember the name snaggletooth so left it off the intro. I had him as well, along with Hammerhead (Momaw) and Walrus man (Ponda Baba), the early names were certainly fun ! LOL

  3. Great renditions of some of my favourites there! It always amazes me that characters with screen time of a couple of seconds or less from star wars can still have names and Wiki pages dedicated to them!! what other movie has that! I too remember them more by the old Kenner names (I had those three too).

Does this mean you'll be doing renditions of the devil headed chap and the sexy young lady who appeared in "Elstree 76" (but for the life of me I've never actually seen in the cantina scene, and I've looked!)?

    Cheers Roger.

    1. Thank you Roger, l think as a franchise they wanted every character to have its own background and personality, giving each one their own importance as in real life. Many happy memories with the old Kenner figures!
Aiming to do all the patrons along the way including the ones in the extended version but probably not the holiday special ones as they are mostly different outfits on the originals, damn my OCD! lol

  4. Nice selection of cantina patrons. Does this mean we'll see a cantina build? I'm certain I saw an online retailer selling scenery of varioys bits from the cantina, including the bar - posdibly for use in Imperial Assault.

    1. Thank you Jez, have seen a couple of different sets, wasn't sure I liked any of them completely so may build one, maybe even make it castable so I can sell them as well ! LOL

    1. Thank you John, some of the more obscure ones will be coming up but will endeavour to post up reference pictures with them.
Hoping I don’t have too many bad bouts with my illness but just have to take each day as it comes

  7. I like this lot very much mate. You already know of my appreciation for the random supporting cast characters, so it's really cool to see you adding this lot too.

Good to read you are on the mend Dave.

My health will unfortunately fluctuate no matter what with my condition so just need to keep going when I can
