ANIMAL OR VEGETABLE ?

 I have managed to get both versions of the Swamp Beast cast, and now painted, color wise I've gone for several green tones, one for the grass over the base of it's legs, a different tone for the leaves growing in patches and a different tone for it's basic skin tone, the vines I've picked out in brown, and the moss in a pale tone.

I've already put them on the website and here is a link to the relevant section alien-fauna to make it easier to find on the site, but that shouldn't stop you browsing all the other bits ! LOL My intention is to keep the business open for as long as possible, but that will depend on my health, so things could change quickly.

WANNA BUY SOME DEATH STICKS ?

 This month I got some under city dwellers, to add to my legion models, what I liked about this set was they were interacting but not violently, maybe just a little seedy ! LOL I thought they would be perfect for background in Mos Eisley, or Mos Espa. I got this set of 3D printed models from Ebay, from bertd_70 these were very reasonably priced and worked out roughly at £1.50 each. The casts were great, and needed very little cleanup, they didn't come with bases, which wasn't a problem for me, but something to be aware of when getting 3D prints.

Below is a more detail shot of the three humans, and the astromech being used as a fire bin. I wanted to vary the skin tones, and the one sat on the floor seemed to have dreadlocks so I went for a darker skintone.

Next we have the aliens, in the set you get a Rodian, two Chagrian, two Gran, and a Twilek.

Gone for a variety of colors across them all so they didn't look like a bunch of Imperial recruits on shore leave ! LOL That's all for today, so until next time stay safe, and have fun !

FORGOTTEN HEROES Part 4

 Today I have finished Spikes Harvey Rotten, I tried to do patches of faded denim on his clothing to give a well worn look, his ammo pouch belt I did in green to match the judges as they were who supplied him, and made sure to include his hand grenade earring, as this was an iconic look of his.

Here he is opposite Sabbat, and yes two different timelines, but they were both done for the same challenge.

I have no idea if, or what else I will do for the challenge this month, as I have some other things on the go at the moment, and a lot to prep for "The Season of Scenery" which starts next month, details to come soon on that. So until next time, stay safe, and have fun !

FORGOTTEN HEROES Part 3 2026

 Continuing on with this years challenge, I am happy to say, I didn't fail this year as I have completed Sabbat, painting wise I went with the first reference picture apart from the shoulder pads I went with bone as shown in the second reference picture. Painting wise the longest part was painting all the faces of the cloak, and each took the same amount of time as a normal face on a model ! LOL

While I was waiting for paint to dry I got the sculpting done on Spikes as well, I decided to give him a shotgun, this will mean I have Dredd, Tweak, and Spikes, I can also cover the other Judges needed with what I already have in my painted models, I just need the 3 robots and proper sized Landraider, and then some of their opponents, to be able to game the crossing of the Cursed Earth storyline.

FORGOTTEN HEROES 2026 Part 2

 I have a little sculpting work to show today, as I have made Sabbat, I did find a plastic head in the bits box to help speed things along, but the rest is all greenstuff as you can see in the picture. 

The cloak was made in three sections, the back section, then the shape of the cloak on the two arms, before adding all the faces. The shoulder bones do have a gap over his actual shoulders. As I managed to sculpt this guy, I thought about who to do next, and I've gone with Spikes Harvey Rotten.

Spikes Harvey Rotten is a fan-favorite, rebellious biker character in the UK sci-fi comic 2000 AD. He made his debut in the 1978 story "Mega-City 5000" and went on to cement his legendary status in the iconic Judge Dredd epic "The Cursed Earth". Key Story Arcs & Trivia The Cursed Earth Quest: To gain his probation, Spikes joined Judge Dredd and an eclectic crew to deliver a life-saving plague vaccine across a thousand miles of irradiated wasteland. Heroic Sacrifice: During the final stretch in the Mojave Desert, Spikes was gravely wounded by a legion of war-droids. He chose to go out in a blaze of glory in a suicide attack against the robots, allowing Dredd and the alien Tweak to continue the mission. The "First Punk Billionaire": Before his last stand, he uttered this iconic line, reflecting his eccentric criminal background. Dredd's Tribute: Moved by his sacrifice, Judge Dredd dressed Spikes' body in a spare Judge's uniform as a decoy, and later ensured a statue of him was erected in the Hall of Heroes, lamenting that Spikes was "the greatest punk he had ever known".
